If I were asked this question by a principal during a job interview I would respond by saying, my professional development will be maintained in several ways. First of all, it is imperative to get feedback from my students. That’s why I’ll have end of the year surveys where they grade me as a teacher. Based on this information, I would seek out improvements to improve myself as a teacher. I believe it is important that we are always questioning ourselves and not settling for good enough. In addition, I’ll try to learn more from my fellow teachers and see what they’ve learned based on their own experiences. Since I’m still new to teaching, it’ll be important that I learn as much as I can from other people. I’ll also be teaching myself art more and making sure they I draw everyday so that I am practicing what I preach. I believe that just like education as a whole, professional development is key to understanding that there is always more to learn.
