The first thing I think about is what my overall goal/purpose for my students. I ask myself why I am going to teach what I’m going to teach. There are a lot of topics in art and so little time to talk about them. It’s important that I make sure each minute is not wasted and they are getting the best out of their learning experience. To me, the different parts of art include the technical aspects that involve being able to understand the rules of art. Then there is the personal aspect that involves students exploring themselves and their inner emotions, what they’re into, and how they feel about things. The third part is the social aspect which involves communicating with others, learning about history, and culture. Together, these three aspects are key to developing an art lesson that is effective and useful.
